The classes were busy making floats and preparing for homecoming. The Homecoming Pep Rally and Barbecue was on Thursday, Sept. 24th, homecoming royalty was announced. Homecoming Royalty for the freshmen were Charles Antoni and Lourdes Mejia, for the sophomores, Moriah Freedman and Oscar Cruz, for the juniors, Bryan Castillo and Alondra Men- doza, and lastly, the seniors Esme Cruz, Sammantha Lizarraga, Joel Freedman, and Jared Wolfe. The Homecoming Queen and King were Sammantha Lizarraga and Jared Wolfe. Homecoming was on September 25th. The school celebrated their 60th Anniversary on Homecoming night. The volleyball team is having a great start to their season. "There are a tremendous number of girls in volleyball this year!" said volleyball Coach Anog. "We have around 30 players this year so we have two junior varsity teams. They are all ready to play and Salome High School News have improved tremendously." They won their first game on September 4th against Mayer, the score was 3-1 in our favor. The homecoming game was against Ajo. The girls won 3-0. As for the football team, they are doing what they do best...winning! They have won three out of the five games they have played, they're dominating the opposing teams. Varsity won their last game 48-8 against Mayer on the 4th of Sep- tember. Junior Varsity also won their first game against Bagdad at home 50-18. Coach Drotzmann is excited for the rest of the sea- son. The homecoming game was against Ajo. The boys won 36-26. The Salome High School Career Fair was on Sept. 17. We had 10 colleges, 3 recruiters, and a Bor- der Patrol officer. Salome High School's FBLA raised money to support the March of Dimes: March for Babies fundraiser event. They placed March of Dimes col- lection boxes around at local busi- nesses. All of the funds raised were donated to the March of Dimes on September 12th in Prescott, AZ, at the March for Babies fundraiser event. Thank you to all the busi- nesses and community members that helped FBLA raise the money! Leadership camp was also a suc- cess for a few members of FBLA on September 24 through the 26. Farmer's Market seeking vendors The Second Annual Quartzsite Farmer's Market is looking for produce, fruit, food and artisan craft vendors for the 2015-2016 season which begins December 2, 2015. The Market will be open Wednesdays from 10am - 2pm through mid-March. Space rent for the market is only $15/day. Food and Produce vendors will need Health Permit from County and everyone needs a Vendors Permit from the Town of QZ. Thank you! These costs are minimal to what you will make!!!
