Sigma Alpha Epsilon - Purdue University

I n 1893, a group of young men created an organization unlike any other at Purdue University. 122 years later, Sigma Alpha Epsilon represents the standard of excellence within the Greek community. Our success on campus and as alumni proves that Purdue SAE has made—and still makes—a major difference in the lives of all brothers. Today, we need to provide the same opportunities for future brothers as our predecessors did for us during the last century. 406 Littleton is worn out—plumbing, bathrooms, HVAC, electrical, kitchen, and parking. Moreover, Purdue has the second-largest Greek system in the country, and competition is fierce. Many fraternities—Alpha Gamma Rho, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Tau Delta, FarmHouse, Pi Kappa Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi, and Sigma Chi—are in the midst of having, or have recently completed, major renovations. Students and their parents demand the space, privacy, and amenities of these upgraded facilities, and a rundown 406 Littleton simply can't compete. We need to provide an updated facility to accommodate growth and to attract the best young men. The House Corporation explored varying options and then developed a sound plan that allows for the long-term viability of 406 Littleton while expanding capacity in this great fraternity house. The comprehensive plan provides our chapter with first- class facilities to preserve the legacy. With hustle and dedication, the chapter thrives with great grades, solid financials, multiple activities, enviable social standing, and outstanding spirit. SAE is the dominant chapter on campus with more than 180 active members. Hustle and dedication can carry the chapter only so far. Initial commitments from very generous alumni plus the chapter now total $1,860,500. This early support proves the lifelong importance of our SAE experiences, and shows why we're excited to announce A Tradition of Excellence: The Campaign for Indiana Beta. To reach our $5 million goal, we need generous and significant support from every living brother. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the house project and the ways you can help. We all benefited from the generosity of alumni who preceded us, and now we must extend that legacy. For all who enjoyed the brotherhood and camaraderie of Purdue SAE, and for all whose family, social, and working lives benefited from our time in the chapter, we must honor our historic tradition of excellence and secure the future of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Purdue.
