The location was the old study room/library, which was located at the northwest corner of the living room. During the remodeling, the wall separating the room and the closet was removed, the two old entrances off the pool room were closed, and a new door opening was incorporated off the living room. A new built-in custom case was incorporated on the east and north walls which will now display old trophies and historic memorabilia that was moved from the old alumni room. New carpet and special lighting were installed and new furniture added to highlight the built-in cases and special wall plaques. Old Candlelights and scrapbooks now have a permanent home in cabinets in this room as well. The new alumni room is not a study room. It is secured and only to be used for alumni, parents, Chapter officer meetings, or meetings with other fraternity or sorority chairpersons. There are several rooms off the front foyer that are study rooms for the undergraduates to use. Since this room is secure, we ask that Beta Phi alumni consider donating old memorabilia to be displayed in this room. If you are interested, please contact Chapter Historian Rex Martin '72 at rexmartinpiano@gmail.com or (317) 445-5077. This room will be open for alumni at all home football games and other events this fall. At the 2014 Chapter House rededication, the new alumni room was named the Richard and Phyllis Russell Alumni Room in honor of Brother Russell's 50 years of service and dedication to the Chapter. THANK YOU, ANNUAL DONORS W ith the first full year post-capital campaign under our belt, a number of alumni have stepped up to invest in Beta Phi's annual campaign once again. Thank you to the 26 donors who committed more than $3,400 so far in 2015. Your gifts help support our undergraduates' scholarship and recruitment activities, as well as our alumni communications. Lessons Learned at Pike University A t the end of July, I accompanied two of my brothers, Greg Dyer '15 and Isaac Peebles '18, to Memphis, Tennessee, to attend the Pike Academy. This was Isaac's first PikeU event, and he was incredibly impressed and excited by his experience. Isaac attended the Emerging Leaders workshops and lessons, and came away with a brand new fire and drive to begin making an impact on the Chapter. Greg and I have both attended numerous PikeU events, and attended this Academy for the Motivating the Middle workshops, which focused on getting the whole Chapter motived going into the school year. We have already utilized those lessons in the opening weeks of the year and fully intend to keep the level of motivation at a high for the remainder of the year. Pike University is an incredible program, and we are incredibly lucky and blessed that we are a part of a great fraternity that offers such a great program. The curriculum covers everything from leadership and developing your chapter academics to utilizing your alumni advisors and carrying out a successful philanthropy event. Everything a young man needs to know to grow and become a True Pike, he can learn at PikeU. The importance of consistent attendance at PikeU cannot be understated, as the motivation and education provided is what pushes our chapter to new heights, and shows our new members what we as Pikes can become and strive to be. Nathan DeVillez '17 Chapter President President Nathan DeVillez '17 and Isaac Peebles '18 at PikeU this August. Alumni Update
