The Alpha Iota Messenger ALPHA GAMMA RHO 3 C huck Peacock '77 was confident from the beginning that his heart belonged with Alpha Gamma Rho. His father, Charles Peacock III '55, belonged to Alpha Iota years before, and Chuck took it upon himself to carry on the legacy. To Chuck, one of the biggest benefits of being in Alpha Gamma Rho was being surrounded by brothers who shared similar interests while being engaged in activities that allowed him to grow socially and academically. It is Chuck's hope that he too will leave behind a powerful legacy by building the future for generations of Alpha Iota Brothers. Chuck's tremendous involvement with Alpha Iota as an undergraduate provided him with valuable skills for life after college, such as how to overcome different obstacles during his college career, learning critical business and management skills, and how to deal with people from different backgrounds and fields of interest. With the profound support of alumni, Chuck is confident that future members will be provided these same opportunities to become something bigger than themselves and to excel academically, socially, and professionally. Chuck encourages undergraduates and alumni early in their professional career to value the importance of education. Representing the farm sector of the country, Chuck explains how imperative it is for individuals to be aware of their importance in the farming and agricultural industry. Through this campaign, Chuck hopes to one day see Alpha Gamma Rho "become a National leader and have a positive light shed on the farm sector for the Chapter." As an alumnus, Chuck pays it forward, and anxiously anticipates the day that alumni and undergraduate members have a place to call their "home away from home." He highly encourages alumni to become engaged in the future of Alpha Iota and says, "This campaign is a necessity that needs to be fueled. It provides alumni the opportunity to help build a foundation for future and current undergraduate members, and to keep the Chapter in good standing." Chuck maintains strong ties with Alpha Iota Brothers Kevin Barrows '78, David Branscum '78, Tim Verkamp '78, and Mark King '78. Chuck proudly runs a family-owned restaurant catering business in Arkansas, Bruce Terri Catering Stars & Stripes Inc., and often provides catering for the Founder's Day and various alumni gatherings. Chuck has benefited substantially from his experiences in Alpha Iota, and he wants future generations to be provided the same benefits, lifetime friendships, and opportunities to leave behind a remarkable legacy for years to come. Aside from his involvement with Alpha Gamma Rho, Chuck spends his free time playing football, baseball, and basketball, taking care of his catering business, and snow skiing in Colorado. He is married to his wife, Terri, and is the father of three children: Chip, Kirk, and Maggie. You can contact Chuck at cpeacock4@hotmail.com. Building a Home Away from Home Chuck Peacock '77—Why I Gave "This campaign is a necessity that needs to be fueled. It provides alumni the opportunity to help build a foundation for future and current undergraduate members, and to keep the Chapter in good standing." T he 81st Founder's Day was a hit! We continued our streak, having over 100 brothers and their families attend events over the weekend. Alumni enjoyed a social meeting at Tiny Tim's on Friday, our business meeting and lunch provided by Brother Chuck Peacock '77 on Saturday, the Razorbacks spring football game, and the Razorbacks baseball game versus MSU. It was a great brotherhood event and one of our best yet. Keep an eye out for details on Founder's Day 2016 and don't miss out! Alumni board members elected were: Fendley Ragland '04 (president), Reece Bailey '04 (vice president), Chris Looney '02 (secretary), Jeremy Bullington '01 (treasurer), Bryce Parker '13 (board member), and James Mitchell '72 (board member). Other board members for 2015 include Brothers Everett Rogers '68, Rodney Baker '72, and Kenneth May '66. Brothers voted to extend the four specific board position terms to two years with a maximum of two terms. Brothers awarded Everett as Outstanding Alumnus of the Year, Brother Chandler Ault '11 as Senior of Significance, and Jay Seale '13 as our undergraduate scholarship winner. Both undergraduates received a $1,000 scholarship. ALPHA IOTA CELEBRATES 81ST FOUNDER'S DAY
