The Building Leaders for Christ. of St. Pius X School crest and new mission statement. More Improvements Are on the Way T he last couple months have been a whirlwind of activity at St. Pius X! We took advantage of the summer break to make numerous updates to the facility and grounds. Our hope is that students, parents, and teachers were wowed by the improvements when they walked through the SPX doorway on the first day of school. Some of the updates you may have noticed include: • The main hallway was repainted with the school colors. • Two water fountains were replaced, along with a renovation to the staff bathroom. • The corner of the downstairs breezeway was lifted and resealed. • Two of the seven ELC rooms were stripped and repainted. • School safety was increased again with a new magnetic lock on the entryway. Cameras are ready to be installed and the new system is easily expandable to add further cameras around campus. I'm thankful that these improvements were made, and even happier knowing how our students will benefit from them. We hope to continue our extreme school makeover further into the school year and address the following needs: • Expand our phone system, allowing teachers and parents to better communicate. • Upgrade classroom furniture. • Replace two additional water fountains. • Repaint the classrooms and outside areas to create a cohesive look. • Install new flooring in the bathrooms and hallways. • Renovate bathrooms, starting in the Early Learning Center (ELC). • Purchase furniture for the Enrichment Center to create proper seating, conferencing, and research areas. • Upgrade technology infrastructure: switches, mount data projectors, and increase access to the Web. As you can see, there is much to be done! In the following weeks, you will receive a letter detailing the ways in which you can help improve our school and enable SPX to complete these remaining projects.
