Page 8 www.DesertMessenger.com By Joanne Winer Local bookstore owner and musician Paul Winer recently had two concerts at Paul Winer concert March 20 to benefit Q.I.A. the Q.I.A. in January, and he played to sold out audiences for both shows. The Q.I.A. has already booked him for another two shows next January. He wanted to thank the Q.I.A. (of which he is a member) for all their help and for the op- portunity to do his shows in their hall. After his first concert there in 2011, he donated half of the ticket sales to the Q.I.A. This January, due to unexpected ex- penses, he was unable to do this again at the time. Rather than go up in his price of tickets so they could benefit more, he offered to do another concert this month and donate half of the proceeds to the Q.I.A. His concert will be held on Tuesday, March 20th at 7 p.m. There will be a $5.00 donation at the door (no advance Ironwood Accounting 225 Central Blvd North of Horizon Community Bank P O Box 4389 Quartzsite, AZ 85359 ACCOUNTING- (QuickBooks) Accounts Payable (Including 1099's) Accounts Receivable Payroll (including W-2s) Management/Financial Reports TAX – Business & Individual NOTARY/FAX/COPIES UPS & FedEx Shipping 928-927-8543 (office) 928-550-7020 (fax) Email: ironwoodaccounting@yahoo.com tickets for this one), so get there early if you want to see the show. New Assisted Living home Dear Residents of Quartzsite, My name is Vennie Williamson, and I have the most wonderful of news! We now have our very Desert Angels Assisted Living facility here in Quartz- site, Arizona. I have been working with the director of La Paz County and the director of SBC for the last 7 months putting this plan together and ready- ing it for action. The site chosen is 170 Lizard Street, here in the town of Quartzsite. The fa- cility will house eight people to start. I know this seems small, however, you must remember every well ran busi- ness starts out that way; there is po- tential room for growth right away. We are accepting cash donations to help with the construction costs; we un- derstand the need to add on right away. Donations can be made to Desert Angels Assisted Living at Horizon Bank here in Quartzsite. We have been able to pay all other opening expenditures ourselves, without government funding. March 7, 2012 We are taking appointments only to show the facility to prospective resi- dents at this time. We are hope to have an open house in the next few months. This will be a private pay facility for now. We have applied to be able to ac- cept state and hospice clients; we are now waiting for approval. The facility will offer several ame- nities, assistance with personal care and hygiene, laundry service, clean- ing room service, the preparing of and serving of three meals a day, doctor and nurse visits, medications delega- tion, in house activities, going out into the community, and other social func- tions. The one I truly like is that of Skype; this is a face to face visit with your loved one from anywhere. My staff and I are dedicated to the highest quality of care for all of you in the community. I am currently attend- ing AWC for my associates in nursing and will obtain my degree in the fall of 2012. I have all of my qualifications First Aid, Blood Borne Illness, Medi- cations, Mental Health, Dementia, Al- zheimer's, my current F.B.I. card, and I have Federal and State fingerprint- ing. All employees will be required the same. I would also like to say that my specialty is that of Dementia and Alzheimer's. I have dedicated the past thirteen years to assisted living. We are now accepting applications. For more information call Vennie or Dave Williamson at 928-575-7254. "The coolest little rock shop in Quartzsite!" Open through March!
