March 7, 2012 On tour the old fashioned way Quartzsite, Arizona- Every adventure begins somewhere; Howard West, author of Locked Gates, Quicksilver Key, and The Last Grand Adventure, went on tour promoting his book in the most unique way. He travels the road at about two miles an hour with his wagon drawn by his large blue/white donkey named Blue Pegasus, accompanied by his faithful dog, Ezekial. West, began his trip from his ranch near Tonapah, New Mexico in Novem- ber, 2011, drawing attention where ever he is, and Tweeting about his journey through the southwest. West and his companions were in Quartzsite for the Author's Fair at Readers Oasis. He also made an appearance at Mardi Gras Art & Author Show Feb. 25th. "Everyone is so helpful," he said. "People have been so generous in Quartzsite!" After staying a few days, he mosied on down the road. Follow his travels on Twitter @LockedGates.
