"I believe that keeping in touch with Indiana
Gamma keeps you young. It is important that
alumni do what they can to ensure that the
Chapter stays strong so that new members
can create their own memories," shared Chad
Ruston '94.
From the beginning, Chad saw that Sigma Alpha
Epsilon was different. When going through
recruitment, he and Bill Naas '94 both wanted
to join Indiana Gamma because the brotherhood
was diverse and full of individuals from different
walks of life. "That was probably the biggest
thing for me. My membership expanded my
horizons and I have lifelong friends as a result."
During his collegiate years, Chad was highly
involved in the fraternity, serving as eminent
archon, vice president, and philanthropy
chairman. "I wanted to be more involved with
the Chapter to lead and foster a good working
relationship with the university. SAE taught me
to follow something that I had a passion for, to
keep a positive attitude, and that you're always
accountable for your actions."
Those values have been able to carry over into
Chad's career. He works for Hollister Inc. as the
general manager of U.S. Ostomy. His career has
always been focused in the medical community.
At his previous company, he had the opportunity
to live and work in Tokyo, Japan.
Chad and his wife, Cambi (Pi Beta Phi at IU),
along with their children, Stellan and Hensley,
live in Fort Wayne, Indiana. "I have a son that I
hope goes to IU and joins SAE. I look forward to
showing him the Chapter house and taking him
to tailgates someday." In 2014, he was able to
travel to Las Vegas with a group of his pledge
class brothers. Chad wants to extend a "hearty
Phi Alpha" to all of his SAE brothers. Contact
him at chad.ruston@gmail.com.
