2 Our History in Pictures Your Help Is Needed to Retrieve Missing Group House Photographs 1948-1949 1955-1956 1965-1966 A s our undergraduate brothers walk through the halls of 3637 Locust Walk, they often take pause to look up at the walls, as many of us have before, to see the group photographs of brothers from prior generations. Though it is easy to feel as if Delta is your house and your experience, just one glance at the rows and rows of pictures in the hallways and you are reminded that you are merely one part of a much bigger story. Since the house was built in 1907, the second- and third-floor walls have displayed the group photographs of brothers from our rich history. Left over right, knees together, no smiles. Without looking at the years, it is often hard to differentiate a Greatest Generation, Baby Boomer, or Millennial photo. A closer look and one can read into a bigger picture of our history, as classes grew smaller through War years and more diverse through our own enlightenment. It is a gentle reminder that though we evolve and change, the principles, purpose, and relationships within our hollowed walls remain constant. Unfortunately, over time, many of these treasured photos became damaged or wandered off of the walls and out of the Hall. In 2013, through the generosity of an anonymous donor, the vision of Virginia Baltzell, and the work of Wilhelmus Bryan IV D'97, Malcolm Dorson D'03, and August Frank D'13, the Hall took back control of our history in pictures. Not only did the team copy and digitalize our current inventory, but they also spent countless hours in the Van Pelt Library and the Penn archives digging up and photocopying photos from old yearbooks. We have now collected 80% of missing classes, standardized each picture's dimensions and filters, and hung them back on our walls with museum-quality lock framing. Even more importantly, we now have digital records of all of these photos so that they may be easily replaced in case of damage and so that we may produce them for our alumni as well. Though we have made great progress, we are still missing various classes. If any of you have group photographs from the below years, please share them with us so that we may make copies and progress in completing our collection. As we close in on 100% participation within our 166-year history, we may soon be looking for extra wall space! 1920 - 1921 1922 - 1923 1932 - 1933 1943 - 1944 1944 - 1945 1960 - 1961 1961 - 1962 1969 - 1970 1970 - 1971 1971 - 1972 1972 - 1973 1973 - 1974 1974 - 1975 1975 - 1976 1976 - 1977 1977 - 1978 1979 - 1980 1981 - 1982 1982 - 1983 1984 - 1985 1987 - 1988 1991 - 1992 1994 - 1995 Missing Group Photographs
