HONORING OUR HISTORY, BUILDING OUR FUTURE The Centennial Campaign for Gamma Pi I n April, Keith Erickson '57, Doug Stock '57, Chuck Safris '63, Richard Stark '71, Dwight Conover '74, Jack Helms '75, Tom Stark '80, Marty Stavas '88, Ben Freese '14 and I presented a challenge to our brothers to raise $203,000 by July 15. In return, we would match those new pledges and gifts dollar-for-dollar, putting Gamma Pi in a position to gain $406,000! In the past four months, 27 brothers added their name to the donor list and more than $95,000 was committed and matched. While our total raised was short come the deadline, we agreed that we couldn't stop there. The only way we wanted to finish this challenge was by doing it right and raising the $203,000 as planned. Brothers, with nearly $108,000 left on the table, we are extending the challenge so the $203,000 match can be earned in its entirety. When successful, the campaign will stand at $3.1 million. We need your involvement to bring this to a close. While we appreciate those who are honoring their pledged commitments with regular payments, only new cash gifts or new pledges count toward this challenge until the $203,000 is claimed. To those who have yet to give, it is time to add your name to o u r d o n o r l i s t ! W e would like to see that list grow from 212 to at least half or more of our living Gamma Pi Delts, or at least 500 contributors. We are asking for a lot of support from you, and we need it to move this project to completion. Maximize your giving by taking advantage of our three-year pledge payment program, setting u p a r e c u r r i n g m o n t h l y d o n a t i o n a t h t t p : / / gammapidelts.kintera.org/housecorporation, or joining with members of your pledge class to combine your efforts in a group gift. If you are already among our list of donors on pages 2-3, we sincerely thank you for your early and significant gifts. In consideration of the match challenge and increased need for support from all Delts, we respectfully ask that you make another gift to the project. You know it was past time to replace the old Shelter… now we need your help to finish the project. Here is why your gift is important: compared to the old Shelter, the new Shelter is completely safety and access code compliant with increased space consistent with the 125-man chapter, which has become standard at Gamma Pi and other main line fraternities at ISU. The increased space means larger group study areas, chapter room, dining room, and recreational and work areas consistent with the needs of a larger chapter. The new Shelter meets the needs of today's students with technology and functionality. With this extension of the match and request for additional contributions, we hope alumni who thought they missed their chance to make an impact will see it's not too late and that challenge or no challenge, this campaign is one that needs your support. Your donations, especially those made up front, have a direct impact on our construction timeline, the financing of our loan, the working budget of the chapter house, and the live-in fees we require of our active members. Make an impact on these numbers, our chapter, and our Shelter by sending a check or giving online TODAY. We are relying on your support.
