THE SANFORD POTTERY FESTIVAL is just around the corner. Always held the weekend before Mother's Day, this annual two-day event – now in its 11th year – has become North Carolina's largest pottery festival. Its mission is to promote the rich and ongoing traditions of pottery in the Seagrove area. Bringing together nearly 100 traditional and contemporary pot- ters, 2012's event boasts outstand- ing artists from our state, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Maryland. Traditional arts and crafts exhibitors are also featured, and there is often a great deal of di- versity among exhibitors. The event will also feature a cel-
ebration of NC wines. For an addi- tional fee, guests 21 and over will receive
a commemorative wine
glass, sample dozens of wines, and may then purchase by the glass, bottle, or case. Great food and other special activities will also be available.
