Campaign Status At-a-Glance As of July 1, 2015 Campaign Goal $2 Million Total Commitments $1,042,836 Total Contributors 91 Mailable Alumni 1,062 The Constantine Sig P si Chapter's unique combination of character and quiet confidence caught the eye of Kurt Rupprecht '04. That, along with the fact that his closest friend at U.Va., Alex Cole '04, received a bid from Sigma Chi, further solidified his decision to join knowing he would be in good company. Kurt earned a bachelor's degree in economics from U.Va. He has worked in financial planning since leaving college and now owns a financial advisory practice in Washington, D.C. "I started my practice as an individual advisor, primarily relying on sweat equity to fund my startup costs. Over the last ten years, I gradually built out the infrastructure and planning capacity of my wealth management team which currently consists of three full-time associates and five junior advisors who I mentor. Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management is the broker dealer with whom I have partnered, and we have a lot of flexibility regarding the manner in which we engage the individual professionals and closely held companies we support." Kurt grew up in a Foreign Service family, so he spent a lot of his youth in Central and South America. When he started his business, he didn't have many family connections in the D.C. area but felt fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with many U.Va. and Psi Alumni across several eras while developing his professional network. In addition to working relationships, Kurt has maintained connections with his Psi Brothers on a personal level. "Thanks to the organizational efforts of Brother Rob Carmichael '04 a group of us get together annually for a three-day Ryder Cup-style golf tournament in Pinehurst, North Carolina, which is a ton of fun. A really cool thing I've noticed about our Brotherhood is that even though it may have been some time since we last connected, it's pretty much effortless for us to fall right back in sync with one another." In response to the Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future Capital Campaign, Kurt's generous contribution was less about rejuvenating the physical structure than creating a positive effect on the Grounds as a whole. "My desire to support Psi's Capital Campaign came from Kurt Rupprecht '04 Secures Sigma Chi's Future at U.Va.
