Can I wear white to a wedding? What about all black? Sizzling red? So the rules for wearing black to a wedding have changed a bit but here is how I style clients. If the wedding is after 5 pm or the wedding invitation has indicated cocktail or formal attire then yes, black is acceptable. Outside of these exceptions I say no. If you want to wear something dark go with navy; it is a safe choice. As for white to a wedding only wear it if is indicated by the invitation. Red is a personal preference. What shoes are making the 2015 summer event list? In the summer, because most events are outdoors, a wedge or flat is your best bet. I love to get a great flat and pair it with a maxi dress or a tall wedge and match it with a pair of shorts. Should I match my date for a wedding or special summer event? Match NO; Coordinate SURE. If I am wear- ing a pink dress to an event it is not unheard of for my hubby to be wearing a pink tie with his suit. It is a simple acknowledgment that we are at this event as a couple . What type of handbag is most appropriate for weddings and summer events? Smaller the better. It is never a good idea to carry your giant day bag to an event. Opt for a fun clutch or a small cross body and you will be more comfortable. What accessory can make my staple "event" outfit look updated for the summer? I love to take a simple black dress that I wear throughout the year and change the jewelry I wear with it. I like to add color in the summer. I will add a bold necklace or multiple colorful bangles. What is Formal? Same as Black Tie? Cocktail? Casual for an event?
