S U M M E R 2 0 1 5 | NORTH BAY WOMAN 59 WOMEN IN BUSINESS 2015 S P E C I A L A D V E R T I S I N G S E C T I O N Sometimes the way to success is to jump right in without hesitation and plow ahead. And that's exactly what happened in 2010, when sisters Rachel Blum and Jaclyn Blum Guelfi joined forces after their father Leon died unexpectedly and left them with Window Factory, a window and door replacement company he established back in 1995. The two women teamed up and made some important changes that would launch their father's legacy into a new generation, by pooling their skills and developing a business strategy that included a revised infrastructure, reduced expenses and a re-vamped marketing strategy. The sisters were already seeing the results of their hard work when sales and profits increased significantly showing a 27% growth rate from their first year of operations to their second. Since then, Window Factory in Larkspur, CA has grown at a steady rate, by leading with a "can do" attitude and stressing customer service above all. With varied backgrounds, Rachel and Jaclyn combined their strengths to breathe new life into the business and building it into the flourishing company it is today. At the outset however, the sisters faced some initial resistance to their status as young women in the generally male-dominated field of construction. This only inspired them to work harder at becoming experts in window and door sales, design and installation. As natives of Marin, Rachel and Jaclyn are proud second-generation owners of a business that has grown under their direction for half a decade now and looking to the future for continued growth. As mothers, community members and local business owners, this pair lives busy personal and professional lives. But, by treating every client like a family friend, Window Factory has built a reputation of excellence in quality, affordability and customer satisfaction.
