16 www.thejewelrybook.com C O N T E N T S M I S E N O O N T H E C O V E R Luxury jewelry houses aren't born everyday and the industry is taking note of the newly minted Miseno. Arriving much like Venus emerging from the sparkling sea, Antonio Cardamuro's two-year old jewelry brand was born from the seaside town of Miseno. "Miseno the brand is about the town, the history, the city's Roman arch, the cape, the sea. Everything the Italian way, inspired by the Neapolitan lifestyle," says Cardamuro. "I think it is important for my brand to represent the place," Cardamuro says thoughtfully. "I didn't come from a family of jewelry designers. If I'm going to tell you a story of my home, then I have to tell the truth." Unique in an industry where luxury jew- elry houses have evolved over generations, Cardamuro is a self-made maverick of the trade and a master of marketing luxury goods. Calling upon his experience at leg- endary jewelry brands Bulgari, Bedat and Buccellati, he has turned his professional experience into a lifelong dream. "Buccellati is one of the most beautiful brands in the world," Cardamuro says. "I was lucky to be able to work with companies that taught me about branding, luxury, and craftsmanship," he adds humbly. Three years ago Cardamuro started to fo- cus on creating a brand of his own built upon these important lessons. His goal was not to simply sell jewelry but rather to create an identity. His expertise with luxury goods and branding is evident in his packaging, mar- keting strategies and classy evolution of this fresh brand. True to his vision, Cardamuro has created designs inspired by the shining rays of the sun, the sea leaf motif born of the oceanside surf of his hometown, and the graceful arc of his mother's fan. Each collection is a visual narrative of his Neapolitan heritage. "The Sea Leaf is the DNA of our brand," says Cardamuro as he describes Miseno's fi rst design, the sea leaf, homage to the stun- ning Mediterranean landscape and the jewel in its crown – the dazzling sea.
