Marlene has a credit of $20.00 toward a gift of her choice. Thank you to all that enjoy and support our gift shop while you dine. 10% of all sales go to charity. The Mountain Quail Art Gallery Showing Artist for the 2015 Sum- mer is Linda Klein. Linda is a full time resident of Quartzsite. Linda spent her young years in Germany while her husband Butch was in the service. Moving back to the States, she worked in an art gallery in Jackson Wyoming while rais- ing a daughter. Yet her daughter Nicole may say she raised Linda. The exposure to fi ne art and being one of the top sales persons lead her interest in art. She helped at the Quartzsite events selling the Artist's work, while painting a bit herself. Taking one single class Linda started the painting called "Thirty Mt. Quail Gift Shop updates Years". It won an award at the Art Guild's Art Show as well as selling her work the fi rst time showing. (It is not that it took her 30 years to paint it; it just took 30 years to fi nish.) Moving to Quartzsite, Linda fell in love with the animals, rep- tiles, and gems, which show in her rock painting for "Rocking in Quartzsite". She now paints oil on canvas. Linda joined Quartzsite Art Guild and involves herself in community charity efforts. Linda is spending her hot summer days working with Norm Simpson on a promotion idea to help our local Vets sponsored by the Mountain Quail Cafe. Her graphic designing talents were used to create a design to print on shirts, hats, and mugs which will be sold funding veter- an's needs. Look for these items in the near future. Come by the the Mountain Quail Cafe, enjoy the art work cards, and magnets for sale . 490 Moon Mountain Ave , Quartzsite , AZ. Stay up to date with sex offenders in area The Quartzsite Police Dept. issued two Level 3 Sex offender alerts last week pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Community Notifi cation of Sex Offender Law. (See www.QuartzsiteBlog.com for details) The offenders have indicated that they will be living in Quartzsite. Notifi cation must be made when certain sex of- fenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, accepted under an Interstate Compact or released from the county jail back into the community. The indi- viduals listed have been convicted of a sex offense which allows for community notifi cation. They are not wanted by the Quartzsite Police Dept at this time. This notifi cation is not intended to increase fear; rather it is our belief that an in- formed community is a safer community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has established a website ac- cording to the requirements of A.R.S. 13-3827. DPS is responsible for maintain- ing the site and annually verifying the addresses of all registered sex offenders. The purpose of the Arizona sex offender information website is to provide in- formation to the public concerning the location of sex offenders within Arizona. The site is NOT intended to supplant the community notifi cation process, but rather, it allows the criminal justice community to promote public awareness concerning the potential threat that sex offenders pose to Arizona citizens. An informed public is a safer public! Visit: http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Sex_Offender/ DEADLINE : WED.
