More than 300 people from across the country attended the dinner, including nearly 20 senators and representatives from both political parties. The dinner was highlighted by a series of toasts from the FSPAC's past presidents—Kevin O'Neill, ΛΧΑ, Larry Wiese, KA Order, Julie Burkhard, ΑΧΩ, Patrick Alderdice, DΧ, Cindy Stellhorn, ΚΑΘ, and outgoing president, Sarah Lindsay, DDD. Two outstanding students were featured speakers. Terra Davis, an Alpha Phi at Appalachian State, and Tripp McKemey, a Sigma Nu at Ole Miss, talked about the positive impact the sorority and fraternity experience had on their lives and the lives of their fellow members. For the first time, a member of Congress attended the dinner with one of their children who had spent the day lobbying Congress on Greek issues. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) saluted her son Ben on his birthday and talked about her positive impressions on Greek life as seen through the experiences of her son and husband. Members of Congress who attended included: Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV/ΚΚG), House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD/ΣΧ), Congresswoman Susan Brooks (R-IN/ΑΟΠ), John Conyers (D-MI/ΚΑΨ), Kevin Yoder (R-KS/ΛΧΑ), Todd Rokita (R-IN/ΣΧ), Marcia Fudge (D-OH/DΣΤ), Joyce Beatty (D-OH/DΣΤ), Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM/DDD), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN/ΧΩ), Richard Hudson (R-NC/ KA Order), and Carlos Curbelo (R-FL/ΣΦΕ). Sarah Lindsay closed the night by reflecting on the record-breaking fundraising to date in 2015, the accomplishments of the first 10 years, and the FSPAC's plans for a bright future. Some of us may not have gotten a bid to our first choice, but I doubt any of you have regretted joining the chapter you did choose. The fluidity of this system, which morphs to an individual and accepts him or her as part of a group, is why we join, but not why we stay involved. "The Greek life experience is all about the effort you put in. The more I have become involved, the more I've received. And now, as I become an alumnus, I will gladly extend my hand to help any of my fellow brothers." Terra Davis, Alpha Phi at Appalachian State University "I've always wanted to make a difference in the world, even if I didn't quite know how I was going to accomplish that. When I became a part of Alpha Phi, I found an amazing source of energy that taught me how to make an impact. "My sisters have helped each other grow to strong confident women who have learned the meaning of being a part of something bigger than ourselves. This is an incredible bond we all share in which we lift one another up to our full potential. I believe in my fraternity because my fraternity believes in me." From Our Undergraduate Members
