Born April 28, 1971 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Waters & Elizabeth Waters Hill. She worked at Fairhaven & Hillcrest Nursing Care as a CNA for several years & also waitressed at Dockside Restaurant & The Shake Shop. Lisa was a member of the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. She was dedicated to helping peo- ple & was actively involved in several local support groups. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Goode; 3 brothers, Ronald, Joe & Rick Waters & sister, Mary Louise Waters. Survivors include & daughters, Lesley Ward & husband, Matthew of Rutherfordton & Taylor Bracebridge & husband, James of Mooresboro; 1 son, Blake Goode of the home; 3 sisters, Jeanette Beck of the Chase com- munity, Mary Conner & husband, Robbie of Ruth & Donna Hardin & husband, Curtis of Rutherfordton; 4 brothers, Carl Waters & wife, Diane of Spindale, Jimmy Waters & fiancé, Sandra of Ruth, Wade Waters & wife, Ann of Spindale & Troy Waters of Spindale; 1 step-daugh- ter, Ashley Burns & husband, Matthew of Roebuck, SC. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements. ARTHUR H. HICKS, JR. Arthur H. Hicks, Jr., age 85, of Bostic, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Born July 1, 1929 in Greenville County, SC, he was a son of the late Arthur Hicks, Sr. & Vestina Hicks Jennings. He was an Army-Air Force veteran having served during the Post World War II era & during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Harris High School & a gradu- ate of Howard Business College. Arthur worked for Fieldcrest Mills for 32 years & J.C. Cowan for 5 years before his retirement. He was a faithful member of Pleasant View Community Church & enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping & fishing. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Estelle Fite & Mary Holiday. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 62 years, Betty Lucille Harris Hicks; 2 daughters, Linda Sims & husband, Tommy of Rutherfordton & Karen Hall & husband, Rodger of Bostic; 1 son, Donald Hicks & fiancé, Michelle of Ellenboro. He is also survived by 8 grandchil- dren, Jamie Sims (Kara), Chris Sims (Shannon), Melissa Hamrick (Russell), Michelle Seagle (Manuel), Tracy Griffin (Dennis), Dereck Hall (Mila), Doug Stamper, Jordan Peirce & 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Pleasant View Community Church with Reverend Danny McCain & Reverend Jerry Vess officiating. Interment followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with mili- tary honors being rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. DONALD NELSON DYSART, SR. Donald Nelson Dysart, Sr., age 71, of Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Born July 20, 1943 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Beaulo Dysart, Sr. & Eldaree Owens Dysart. He was a graduate of Chase High School & worked for Haynes Manufacturing for many years before his retirement. Donald enjoyed music & was a D.J. for K.D Support until his illness & drove a van for the Church of the Exceptional for many years. He was a caring and kindhearted man. In addition to his par- ents, he was preced- ed in death by one son, Donald Nelson Dysart, Jr.; grandson, Richard Donald Williams & two brothers, Beaulo Dysart, Jr. & Bobby Dysart. Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Dysart Gilbert & husband, Eddie of Lincolnton; Cindy's mother, Brenda Dysart Ledford of Lawndale; grandson, Ricky Williams, Jr. & wife, Alisha of Shelby; two granddaugh- ters, Miranda Dysart of Ellenboro & Brittany Smith of Forest City; daugh- ter in-law, Wendy Dysart of Ellenboro; one broth- er, William Faye Dysart of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Mattie Lackey of Caroleen, Helen D. Rieks & husband, Rodney of Gastonia & Hazel D. Appling of Forest City. Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Andy Stevens, Reverend Mattie Lackey & Hazel Appling offi- ciating. Interment followed at Alexander Cemetery. Memorials are suggest- ed to Hospice of Catawba County, 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658 in order to help cover medical expenses.
