or more than 85 years, the Michigan
Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
has been an important part of the Michigan
State University community. From our original
founding as the Columbia Literary Society to our
affiliation with Sigma Alpha Epsilon in 1927, the
Michigan Gamma Chapter has set itself apart
from other fraternities on campus as a values-
based organization that promotes the highest
standards of friendship, scholarship and service.
With more than 1,800 initiates, Michigan Gamma
has influenced the lives of thousands of men and
cultivated lasting friendships in the process.
While there may be some differences in today's
chapter compared to the one you knew, all ΣΑΕ
alumni can be proud of the legacy we have
helped create and the historical quality of our
chapter that continues to date. e chapter plays
a significant role in the personal and professional
development of its members and this growth is
crucial in today's competitive world.
From the original location at 131 Bogue to the
current location at 342 N. Harrison, our chapter
houses have been a home away from home for
our members. It has also served as a living and
learning center for our members. However, if we
wish for Michigan Gamma Chapter to continue
its record of accomplishment, we must overcome
a number of challenges in regard to our chapter
house. With our past and present secure, we must
now look to our future.
