In order to ensure our continued success, we must update and improve our chapter house. While the projects completed to date are certainly significant, more must be done to ensure our chapter's long-term success. e Challenge Competition and Housing Demands ere has been a paradigm shi in the housing market across the coun- try, including at Michigan State. Today's college students and their par- ents expect more for their housing dollars. A large component is the in- troduction of single-occupancy rooms and suite-style living. Renovated residence halls, as well as new apartment complexes, pull undergradu- ates and potential new members away from fraternity houses by offering more space and privacy. In order to recruit and retain college men, we must offer a safe, attractive, and efficient facility. e Need for Space Michigan Gamma knows that an important component of maintaining a strong chapter is a strong leadership presence. One way to ensure this is through keeping juniors and seniors in the chapter house. In order to accomplish this, we must add additional bedrooms to our home. Furthermore, adding single bedrooms will create desirable living spaces and motivate men to stay in the chapter house. Academics and Technology Study space and academic needs have changed. A college living facility must include state-of-the-art technology and multiple electrical outlets in each room. e need for quiet, well-lit, and comfortable personal and group study space within the chapter house is necessary for our members to compete academically. e plans will reflect each of these needs. Our Solution Aer careful examination, SAE F&H has developed a plan to meet the needs of our undergraduate members, ensuring that Michigan Gamma maintains a strong presence at Michigan State far into the future. is major expansion will impact each floor of 342 N. Harrison Avenue and provide additional bedroom, study and community space. Ensuring our Continued Success
