Okay, offi cially it comes next week, but in Quartzsite? Summer's here – Summer's here! And, in 2 weeks…woop, woop, it's July 4th! In 1922 Paul Harris (the Founder of Rotary International in 1905) said, "In the fi nal analysis, Rotary exists for the purpose of developing the individual member and thereby increasing his capacity to serve." The Rotary has Five Avenues of Service with Community Service as one of them. So, amongst other items we do for our community, Quartzsite Rotary started a tradi- tion last summer and we will con- tinue it every year for the Town's event for Independence Day celebrations. We want everyone, seniors, families, young and old, to come out and enjoy the festivities. Our part in this is to keep the costs way down for the food so all can afford. Last year we started the tradition and we heard our towns- people who attended were very happy with the food and the pric- ing. So this year we decided we are going to cut all costs in HALF, OR MORE! This is not a fundraiser; it is our Community service to you all under our cost! MENU: All-Beef Hot Dogs (plain) $0.50 each All Beef Hot Dog (plain) with Potato Salad $1.00 each Nachos, Tortilla Chips & Chili $0.75 each Chili (all no beans) and/or Cheese – add on $0.25 each And…Operation Hero Comfort is joining us in this and will serve: All soda pop and water for $0.25 each So for a family of 4, you can have a hot dog and potato salad and with a drink, all for $5.00! So come on out, eat, play games, watch the kids having fun and see the fi reworks. What a terrifi c day with friends and family. Tips will be appreciated since every cent will be going to the Quartzsite Food Bank. Please remember, this year the cel- ebration is back to the Town Park Pavilion, July 3rd, Friday, starting at 5 pm. Food will be served until 8 pm. Fireworks start soon after 9 PM! Senior Citizens Center is open, get out of the heat come join us. The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM each day with lunch being served at noon for a donation of $3.50.
