Members are music teachers and performers in central New York. They will feature excerpts from classical music composers plus lighter music arranged for wind instru- ments. Tigeriss plays sing-a-long rock, while Electric Evolver pays homage to the rock/ pop vibe of the 1960s and 1970s with a modern twist. Rhinoceros 10 p.m. $3 Autumn Cafe 244 Main St., Oneonta Jan. 12, 2012 O-Town Scene 21 Rhinoceros is a local death jazz, progressive metal band from Gilbertsville. They note influences ranging Slayer, Django Reinhardt, Bad Brains, Bill Evans, The Beat- les, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus and Lamb of God. Father-son duo David and Adrian Mowry blend roots, blues, jazz, bluegrass and a bit country in their perfor- mances. David is on slide guitar, with Adrian finger picking as they sing harmonies and play blues riffs. Tickets are $15 ahead of the Friday, Feb. 2, perfor- mance and $18 at the door. Sat. 2/4 Nora Jane Struthers 7:30 p.m. Free-$20 The Otesaga Resort Hotel 60 Lake St., Cooperstown (607) 547-1812 Nora Jane Sthruthers draws on folk, bluegrass and roots to spin musical tapestries.
