Whether you helped with the Flea Market, Information Fair, lunch or the raffle drawing, it would not have been a success without you, so thank you for all that you did! We will be having a Volunteer Meeting on Wednesday, June 3 rd at 1:00. Make plans now to attend. This meeting will consist of the many events coming up in June and July. We are currently looking for help in our Gift Shop and Consignment Store. If you enjoy meeting and greeting new people, this is the place for you! Also, we are looking for help with Monday Night Bingo again. We need someone once a month to help call Bingo, someone with a good clear voice and a fun attitude. All ladies are welcome to have lunch with us. The menu will include one entrée, two vegetables, bread, dessert and beverage. The cost for seniors age 55 and better is $5.50 and $6.00 for all under the age of 55. You do not have to register to attend. Men's Day Celebration Walgreens Pharmacy will host a Wellness Seminar on Wednesday, June 17 th, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. on SCAMS, a very important topic for senior adults. A Pharmacist will be conduct- ing the seminar. This will be a great time to ask questions and receive important information as it relates to protecting your identity and other beneficial facts regarding SCAMS. Refreshments will be served. Walgreens Wellness Seminar The Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center, located at 100 TR Harris Drive, Shelby, N.C. will be having a covered dish luncheon on Friday, June 19 th , 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dining Room. All are welcome. Please bring your favorite dish and join us for great food, fun, and fel- lowship. If it is more convenient, feel free to contribute by bringing something purchased at the Grocery Store or a local restaurant. Covered Dish Luncheon Rules: *Everyone must bring something to share unless you are a first time visitor. *No takeouts unless you are taking the dish that you provided. *A $5 donation will be accepted and appreciated if you would like to attend, but are unable to provide a food item(s) for the luncheon. We also invite you to join us for lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. prior to the Senior Talent Showcase. The menu will consist of one entrée, two vegetables, bread, dessert and beverage. The cost is $5.50 for seniors age 55 and better or $6.00 for those under the age of 55. If you would like to be a talent contestant, please stop by the Front Desk and complete a short registration form. Registration will open on Tuesday, June 2 nd . The deadline is Tuesday, June 16 th . Each act will have 3 to 5 minutes of performance time in order to be fair to all participants. Lights, camera, action, you're on! The Neal Senior Center's Got Talent Dine Do you enjoy good food and great fellowship? If so, you are invited to join the Neal Senior Center Dine Around Club for seniors age 55 and better. The Dine Around Club meets at an area restaurant on the 4 th Thursday in the months of January - September. We will be dining at Chen's Chinese Restaurant located at 209 West Dixon Boulevard in Shelby at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015. If you are interested in participat- ing, please call the Neal Senior Center Front Desk at 704- 482-3488 to reserve seating by or before Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
