Our PrOud HistOry
T
he storied tradition of the Indiana Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha
Epsilon dates back to 1893. For over 120 years SAE has been an
important part of Purdue University and the West Lafayette community.
Our brotherhood is an important and positive part of our lives, and SAE
plays a significant role in the personal and professional development of
its members.
With more than 2,400 initiated brothers, SAE Purdue is part of the
Purdue fabric, and as shareholders of the House Corporation it is our
duty to ensure that it will continue to influence generations of men,
cultivating lasting friendships and memories. Indiana Beta alumni have
distinguished themselves as leaders in their professions
and communities. The things we learned outside of the
classroom—in the chapter house, with our brothers,
together at fraternity events—have played significant
roles in shaping the principles and values integral to
our personal success.
Our brotherhood is a sacred bond, forged during
our time spent at Purdue. Nearly every Indiana
Beta brother spent time in our chapter house at
406 Littleton Street. It was our home and our
headquarters as we developed academically and
socially and became men. Renovating the chapter
house is a critical need and the only way to ensure
that SAE Purdue can continue its strong presence on
campus and remain competitive at Purdue.
The following pages detail the steps needed to complete a significant
renovation of the chapter house. This project will not only serve the
immediate needs of our undergraduates, but also provide a premier
facility for all alumni to use and enjoy.
Now is the time to build upon our foundation and ensure the success
of future generations of Sigma Alpha Epsilon brothers. We invite you
to learn about our plans, join our efforts, and pledge your commitment
to our fraternity campaign, A Tradition of Excellence: The Campaign for
Indiana Beta.
