GRACE ROBERTS HIGGINS Mrs. Grace Roberts Higgins age 69 of Forest City, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday May 17, 2015. A native of Rutherford County, she was an office manager for B & H Motors in Spindale, the widow of W. Earl Higgins and a daughter of the Late H.B. Roberts. Grace was also preceded in death by a number of siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her mother Hallie Flynn Roberts of Forest City, NC; one son David Higgins of Spindale, NC; one daughter Donna Lowery and her hus- band Tony of Ellenboro, NC; two grandchildren Mathew Higgins and Kaitlyn Higgins, one great grandchild, one brother Donald Roberts, three sis- ters Catherine Ivey, Hattie Radford and husband Steve, and Viola Hill and husband Johnny. Grace is also survived by a num- ber of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rutherford County Hospice P.O. Box 336 Forest City NC 28043. Crowe's Mortuary Rutherfordton, NC is assisting the family of Grace Roberts Higgins. FRANCES MAYSE Mary Frances Mayse, age 88, of Rutherfordton passed away Saturday May 16, 2015. She was a native of Rutherford County, widow of Amos Mayse & daugh- ter of the late Calvin Russ and Martha Crotts Carter. Frances was a member of Wilson Baptist Church and was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Judy Hicks of Ellenboro, son Roger Mayse of Forest City, brother Glenn Russ of Virginia; grand- children Nikki (Tyler) Hall, Megan Mayse, James Roger (Ashley) Mayse and Ryan Mayse; great grandchildren Porter and Piper Hall and Anthony Mayse; sister in law Lillian Johnson and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at Wilson Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Dorsey officiat- ing. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043. Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Mayse fam- ily. MICHAEL DANIEL "BOONE" MABE Michael Daniel "Boone" Mabe, age 32, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015. Born July 27, 1982 in Rutherford County, he was the son of Michael Mabe & Tammey Kimbrell Thompson. Michael worked as a welder for Boyd's Welding for sev- eral years & attended the Buffalo Baptist Church of Shelby. He enjoyed fish- ing, hunting, & motorcy- cles & especially loved spending time with his lit- tle sister, Keeley. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Kevin Mabe Keeter; grand- parents, Dan & Joyce Kimbrell; grandpa, Bill Mabe & great-grand- mother, Rebecca Smith. Survivors include his step-father, Dwayne Thompson; step-mother, Lisa Goforth Mabe; sister, Keeley Lynn Thompson all of Forest City; 2 step-brothers, Jason Thompson of Statesville & Josh Scoggins of Forest City; 2 step-sis- ters, Stephanie Hodge & Kelsey Scoggins both of Forest City; grandpar- ents, Fran & Cindy Keeter of Forest City & Fred &Dorothy Thompson of Summerville, SC. He is also survived by a host of loving aunts and uncles. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment fol- lowed in the church cem- etery. Memorials are sug- gested to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
