Monday - Friday, 10am – 2pm A new fundraiser is planned for Saturday, June 6th at Gunny's Military Museum. A Live Auction of do- nated items will start at 5:00pm. All pro- ceeds from the auc- tion will go to "Gun- ny's Angels" to help out local veterans in need. Organizers will provide canopies for shade and free coffee. They ask that you bring your own chairs and drinks. The auctioneer will be Robert "Gunny" St. Germain and should prove to be very entertaining. His wife, Debra, told Desert Mes- senger, "it's going to be a hoot!" Organizers are asking for items to be donated to the auction to be dropped off by Friday, June 5th. Items must be useful to someone else; items should be clean and in working order (unless stated "as is/non-work- ing" prior to sale); no live animals, fi rearms or illegal items will be accepted.. Parker, AZ -The Great Western Tube Float, otherwise known as the Parker Tube Float, has been one of Parker, Arizona's most popu- lar and long-running events. This event is a fundraising event put on by the Parker Area Cham- ber of Commerce. The proceeds benefi t local business pro- grams and education to foster a strong economic foundation within the Parker Area community. The Great Western Tube Float has become more than just a fundrais- er. It has developed and grown to become a much anticipated special event on the Town's calendar and one that attracts thousands of par- ticipants from around the region and country. The fl oat is approxi- mately 7 miles down the Colorado River along the Parker Strip. The 38th Annual Parker Tube Float June 6th journey begins at La Paz County Park and ends on the Blue Water Resort & Casino's sandy beach. For those not participating in the Float itself it is a must-see event. This year's event will take place June 6th, 2015. Make your reservations now to be a part of this amazing event. For rules, registration and information, please visit Parker Area Chamber of Commerce or call (928) 669-2174 or visit Parker Area Chamber of Commerce FBI offers $310,000 reward Nearly 20 years ago, October 9, 1995, unknown persons purposely damaged railroad tracks between Phoenix and Yuma, AZ causing the AMTRAK Sunset Limited pas- senger train to derail, killing 1 and injuring approximately 100 others. The person or persons responsible have never been identifi ed and held accountable for this crime. The FBI is still actively pursuing this case and is looking for assis- tance from anyone who may have information regarding the derail- ment of the Sunset Limited. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $310,000 for information lead- ing to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
