This year, Diamonds in the Sky Las Vegas will
highlight the Diamonds Do Good Initiative.
This initiative connects the good works of
the diamond and jewelry industries directly
with consumers. The epicenter of the effort
is DiamondsDoGood.com, a site designed to
excite consumers with the beauty, rarity, and
emotional resonance of diamonds and diamond
jewelry, while also educating them on how dia-
mond revenues are used to promote positive
change by the good works being done by min-
ers, manufacturers, and retailers.
To further help, the Diamond Empowerment
Fund has recently re-launched its iconic Green
Bracelet for charity, available on Amazon.com
retailing for $125. Made from malachite beads
and featuring a gold-tone bead set with two pol-
ished diamonds, the new version of the brace-
let was inspired by the students from D.E.F.'s
benefi ciaries. "The design changed to show the
growth of the students involved in the program,
who have gone from rough diamonds to the
polished gems that they have become today,"
explains D.E.F. Executive Director and Vice
President Nancy Orem Lyman. If retailers are
interested in stocking D.E.F.'s Charity Green
Bracelet, please contact Scott Rauch, D.E.F.
Board Member and President, SHR Jewelry
Group at scott@shrjewelrygroup.com.
The Diamond Empowerment Fund seeks to empower youth in
diamond-producing countries and communities where the industry does
business through access to higher education.
