Spring 2015 3 MeMbers Make IMpact on caMpus and coMMunIty Gamma Theta Focuses on Recruitment, Philanthropy, and Service G amma Theta has had a productive spring semester. We signed five new members through spring recruitment and look forward to welcoming these men into the brotherhood. The chapter keeps busy with many social and philanthropy events. Our philanthropy event, Pikes for Pups, was April 15 at the chapter house. Members sold raffle tickets to raise funds for the American Humane Society. Brothers sold advertising space to local businesses for Super Bulldog Weekend and partnered with sororities on campus to collect supplies for local animal shelters and the American Humane Society. In addition to our own philanthropy events, Gamma Theta is a big supporter of other chapters on campus. We pledged $3,500 toward Kappa Sigma's 17th Annual Charity Classic football game. Brothers are active on campus and in the community. Each Friday, members volunteer at Palmer Home for Children in Columbus. The chapter also participates in the Adopt-A-Highway program, picking up trash along Highway 82 each month. With the spring semester coming to a close, our recruitment chairmen are turning their attention to summer and fall recruitment. In April, we hosted the Crawfish and Band Social at the chapter house as part of Super Bulldog Weekend. This is always a good opportunity for us to meet potential new members. If alumni know of someone coming to Mississippi State in the fall, please send their contact information to Recruitment Chairman Tyler Dossett '14 at ctd91@msstate.edu. We appreciate the continued support of our alumni and invite you to stop by the chapter house anytime.
