T E X A S A L P H A Page 3 Texas Alpha Leading the Way Success in Rush, Academics and Campus Involvement I could not be more pleased to report on the progress that Texas Alpha has made in the past year. High standards and expectations, set by both the undergraduate chapter and active alumni, have resulted in significant growth in both the chapter as a whole and as individual leaders on campus. The chapter's rush efforts have again proven successful, with 38 brothers initiated in the past year. The chapter remains over 100 men strong and is recruiting some of the strongest candidates from high schools around the nation. We take pride in our diverse nature, welcoming one of the largest out-of-state populations among all fraternities on campus. Our dedicated rush team has already begun directing their focus toward this year's fall class and will be hosting multiple events for potential brothers throughout the spring semester. Academics continue to be a strong foundation for the undergraduate chapter. The chapter G.P.A. is very competitive with other Greek organizations and men across the University. This is due in large part to two unique platforms: the BEVO mentoring program and a chapter-wide tutoring service. Our mentoring program seeks to connect undergraduate brothers with engaged alumni having similar interests and career goals. Not only has this program helped brothers academically, but it also provides undergraduates with real world experience in the form of multiple internships. Secondly, the endowment fund recently sponsored a tutoring service that is available to all brothers. Thus, Texas Alpha has become one of the most competitive fraternities on campus in terms of academic and career resources. Involvement on campus is at an all-time high. Brothers continue to be selected into leadership roles, including Silver Spurs, Texas Cowboys and the Texas Interfraternity Council. Texas Alpha now has six active Silver Spurs and four active Texas Cowboys. Additionally, one of our brothers now holds the role of vice president of philanthropy of the Interfraternity Council. These are some of the most visible and impactful organizations on campus and facilitate a truly cohesive Greek community. Furthermore, our brothers continue to get involved in other ways, filling roles as summer orientation advisors and Bible study leaders of other groups on campus. The future of Texas Alpha brings much excitement to the undergraduate chapter. Continued chapter growth spurred by the promise of a new Phi Psi house at 2501 Nueces Street offers a bright future for all brothers of Texas Alpha.
