Make a Pledge and Secure Our Future We are asking every brother to support this effort. While we understand there are many demands and requests for giving, please consider the difference you can make to the future of Gamma Theta. Please join us in offering your support. Over the next several months, many of you will be hearing from one of your brothers serving in a class leader role for the campaign. They are there to answer questions you have. In addition, you will find a pledge form enclosed with this communication. Remember that you can spread your gift out over a five-year period if you choose. Gifts in excess of $25,000 can be tax deductible if made through the UN Foundation. Together, we can meet our goal of $3,225,000 by November, so let's finish strong and start this long overdue project next spring. On behalf of the campaign leadership team, thank you for investing in Gamma Theta. As our undergraduate chapter works hard to continue the Gamma Theta traditions, we hope you will join in the efforts to maintain our rich history. Help us live up to the high principles of our fraternity's foundation. The commitment you make today will bring us one step closer to having the premier Greek house on campus. Love and Respect, Rob Mitchell '76 Campaign Co-Chairman romitchell@deloitte.com Brad Tolstedt '76 Campaign Co-Chairman teeitup1@comcast.net INSIDE: Thank You, Alumni • 2 All-Class Reunion • 3 Donor Spotlights • 4 Chapter House at Capacity • 5 ALPHA TAU OMEGA • UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN • SPRING 2015 S ince the beginning of the Building on a Tradition of Excellence campaign, we have been gratified by those who have contributed to this much-needed cause to renovate our chapter house at 1433 R Street. To the more than 20 alumni volunteers who have been working on the campaign and to the 115 alumni who have already given, thank you! You are helping to establish a legacy that will benefit Gamma Thetas for many years to come. The Time Is Now We have come far since first announcing the campaign in September. However, we have a ways to go to meet our goal. At present, we have received pledged commitments in the amount of $1,830,000, or 57 percent, of our $3,225,000 goal from those 115 alumni donors and the active chapter members who pledged $75,000 to the effort. That puts us $1,395,000 short of attaining our objective. It is important that we raise the additional $1,395,000 and reach our goal by early November so that we will be able to break ground on our renovation as soon as school gets out in early May 2016. If we don't, construction will most likely be pushed back to May 2017 due to timing of permits and city planning. Construction costs continue to rise, and if we are forced to hold off and keep fundraising for another year, the final cost of the project could be higher. Be Part of the Solution The contributions received to date have come from just 8.5 percent of our 1,345 active living alumni. We know we have enormous potential. In order for Gamma Theta to continue providing a great experience, ensuring a quality learning environment, and attracting future leaders, our facility requires investment. Think about all of the memories, lifelong friendships, and connections your experience in the chapter has given you. Each of us benefited from the courage, generosity, hard work, and sacrifice of those who went before us. We all enjoyed the comfort, fun, and brotherhood the chapter house provided. Consider your sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, and nephews who will benefit from what we are doing right now and the legacy this will leave. Now it is our turn to renovate that special place known as the Old Stone Fortress, ensuring that the same great experience will be available to future brothers.
