Hopefully this will be a great year for you and your family, as well as the chapter. The House Corporation has been moving forward with many projects and events since the last time we updated you. It has been a pretty slow year as far as the actual house is concerned; we had some repairs and minor issues to deal with but nothing really major. As mentioned in previous updates the road was redone, which was a sizable investment, and is a really great addition to the house and grounds. We are planning a lot of upgrades and maintenance to the house this summer and, as always, could use alumni monetary or volunteer support. The chapter continues to grow and do very well. The actives lead in many categories from grades to membership. Delts are now cemented as one of the top fraternities on campus. Some key dates are on page 4 for this semester and summer. Please come out and join us to see how Zeta Sigma has grown and lend a helping hand to support the chapter and its many programs. We are still eagerly looking for additions to the House Corporation and would love to have your involvement. Please let me or someone on the board know if you are interested in becoming part of our organization. In closing, I want to thank the actives and alumni who do their part in keeping the chapter moving forward and maintaining the house and grounds. It is a lot of work and much appreciated. We can always use your involvement no matter how little time you might have to give; it all adds up. I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events. Fraternally, Chad Kauffman '93 House Corporation President (214) 707-5943 ckauffman01@gmail.com Shelter Updates Planned for the Summer (Continued on page 3) S ophomore Johnny Walker '17 has become a burgeoning young leader in Zeta Sigma. From Temple, Texas, Johnny was attracted to the "culture of integrity" at Texas A&M and feels that he is getting the best value for his dollar. Delta Tau Delta was an easy choice for Johnny when he immediately noticed the strong brotherhood bonds between Delt members during recruitment. "I could truly see myself becoming involved in the chapter and being a part of the academic success that Delt continues each year," he said. "My favorite undergraduate experience so far has to be fall 2013 Bid Day, when I received my Delt bid and walked down the steps of the A&M administration building." Johnny has wasted no time in getting involved, both inside and outside the fraternity. This year he is the chapter's director of risk management. "The experience and knowledge I have gained in this position so far is immeasurable, including improving my leadership, commitment, and communication skills while working with the rest of the executive board as well as interacting with numerous Texas A&M staff members," Johnny said. As a member of the Catholic Students Association and the Aggie Investment Club through the university, Johnny is an advocate of staying involved. "Being involved is extremely important for yourself and those around you. I will always advise younger members of the chapter to become heavily involved, especially if the organization is positively influencing you, and you are positively influencing the organization."
