Students and teachers took part in a variety of activities, including dressing as their favorite book character and dressing in red, white and stripes in honor of the Dr. Seuss' classic "The Cat in the Hat." Read Across America is held during the week of Dr. Seuss' birthday, which was March 2. At Harris Elementary, parents joined students for uninterrupted reading time on March 4. At Rutherfordton Elementary, Media Coordinator Jennie Greenway is pictured with Teagan Hill and Mackenzie Buchanan on book character day, where the three dressed as characters from the Harry Potter series.
