November 16, 2011 Scholars' Preschoolers had a busy month Quartzsite, AZ - The Little Scholars' Preschool had a busy month of Octo- ber. Mrs. Berenice transported us on the school bus, along with the other staff members and three parents to the Quartzsite Fire Station. We were greeted by two firefighters and given a tour of the main office, kitchen, den, fitness room, sleeping quarters, and the garage that houses the trucks. While we were there, the department received an emergency call and we got to watch them spring into action. Thank you, Firefighters, for keeping us safe and for our red helmets! During Red Ribbon Week, the pre- schoolers created a banner, Hand in Hand, with our parents to remind us to be drug free together. We also hung red ribbons in our playground area, marched in a Red Ribbon Parade with our instruments, and enjoyed a special picnic on campus. www.Desert Messenger.com the Children's Library and enjoy sto- ry time with Ms. Ashley. She is also joined by Mrs. Schultz and Thomas for special projects for the preschoolers. We then take a short walk to the Town Park to enjoy the beautiful equipment and picnic area for the afternoon. We are often joined for these special days by two new friends, Cami and Mattie, Elshana Todor enjoyed the bus ride to the Fire Department and being in charge of our Mascot for the Week, Big Red A special visitor, Nurse Mary Trimble, from the La Paz County Health De- partment, shared a book about tooth brushing with us and let us all have a turn brushing the giant's teeth she brought! Our Nurse Mary also gave each student a new toothbrush with a cap, toothpaste, and of course, a nice sticker. We love stickers! Thank you, First Things First, for sponsoring our monthly visits from Nurse Mary.
