Club Bulletin March 2015 47 www.theEDexpo.com M any club owners will agree that one of their biggest headaches is dealing with credit card chargebacks. You know, those pesky—and, many times, fraudulent—claims from customers who may have walked out of your club with a sudden case of buyer's remorse? Swift Pay Systems is the creator of Charge Savvy, an iPad app that helps prevent chargebacks before they happen and eliminates the hassle after a chargeback is filed. Swift Pay Systems is an industry credit card processor that aims to increase sales and efficiency by implementing innovative technology and practices. Swift Pay Systems' managing partner, Mike Kehoe, recently spoke with ED Publications and shares his thoughts on last year's EXPO, describes Charge Savvy and provides some advice on how club owners can protect themselves from chargebacks. "We had a great response at last year's EXPO," Kehoe says. "It was our first time at the EXPO and we had a fantastic turnout." ED's Annual Gentlemen's Club EXPO was the perfect platform for Swift Pay Systems to showcase their chargeback-diminishing app Charge Savvy. "We were seeing too many problems with chargebacks and fraudulent claims directed at gentlemen's clubs," says Kehoe. "Using paper files to keep important records, especially for large transactions, seems archaic and it puts the club at risk." Charge Savvy can help your club avoid fraudulent chargebacks with its secure data file storage. It is much safer for the customer's information to go into an electronic file rather than making paper copies of their information, especially for larger transactions like private dances or bottle service. "It gives a more luxurious look to the club," Kehoe explains. "By taking out the extra steps of making photocopies and whatnot, buyer's remorse can be thwarted because the process takes only a few short minutes." If a chargeback does apply to your club, all you have to do is go into your secure database to find the customer's information. Since the entire transaction takes place on the iPad app, it puts the secure information quite literally in the palm of your hand. With this system, the need to store paper files—which also makes your club seem outdated—is eliminated. Charge Savvy is a way for club owners to protect and prepare themselves for the inconvenience of handling chargeback claims. Unfortunately, chargebacks are a pain and can be hard to avoid, but the level of stress that comes along with them can be dramatically reduced by taking the proper precautions. Kehoe did have some advice to share with club owners, regardless of whether or not they use Charge Savvy. "Always protect yourself and your business," says Kehoe. "Even of you don't use electronic files, make sure that your records are always well-kept."
