A fan told Kaye about the great convergence and population explosion of Quartzsite every season and thought her show would go over great with the music lovers of Quartzsite. So, on a whim Kaye left Northern California and decided to spend a day in Quartzsite investigating. She visited every watering hole and venue she could fi nd and was eventually referred to Steve Poole, the new owner of the Main Event on the West Side of Quartzsite and business owner behind The Roadrunner Supermarket. Steve Poole, having just acquired the Main Event fi ve months prior was full of ideas to bring back the glory days to Quartzsite and events of the past. They shared their ideas and together decided to put on the fi rst Sunset Concert at the Main Event on January 24th. With little time to promote, build a stage and get the Main Event on the map, they forged ahead undaunted. The evening was clear, a perfect des- ert sunset concert with a great show band and superior performer and sing- er in Kaye Bohler. Kaye Bohler brought a stellar line-up and 4-piece band from Phoenix and wowed the crowd. Music lovers and members of the Q.I.A. were in attendance and soon invited her to perform again on March 10, 2015 at the great Q.I.A. performance hall. Kaye Bohler is a 30-year, inter- national Roots Music Performer and original singer/songwriter and bandleader out of Northern Califor- nia. She just released her fi fth Album, entitled "Handle the Curves" with the multi-platinum, Grammy award win- ning producer Pete Anderson. (Pete Anderson notably produced Dwight Yoakam for 20 years along with, Tanya Tucker, Lucinda Williams and KD Lang). Handle the Curves has received stellar reviews comparing her song- writing to Carole King. Fab radio in Italy notes, "A great and unforgettable voice!...a large and beautiful voice that is not easily forgotten!" Blues Matters in Britain describes, "Kaye Bohler has a big strong voice and on this, her fi fth album, she proves that she can certainly handle a soul tune with ease and class…A very fi ne album." Blues in Britain describes Handle the Curves, "Bohler lays down ten siz- zling tracks that cement her reputation as one of the fi nest female blues singers on the circuit today." She has performed non-stop for 30 years with no more than a two-week break in all that time. Kaye is a roots music performer, but in truth she is a true-blue lover of developing her craft as a vocalist. She has spent 30 years studying opera, jazz, pop, country, gospel, soul, R&B and Blues. So what is a Roots music performer? Kaye will answer that by saying, "I sing blues before Elvis came along and stole it, country before over- production took hold, swing like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra intended and celebrate authenticity with the depth of emotion like a Janis Joplin and Etta James performed." On March 10th she will bring her world class band from the Bay Area of California. She will be performing her original music along with material from the top most infl uential artists of her career from Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner Frank Sinatra, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Peggy Lee, Etta James and Al Green. She would love to fi nd a home in Quartzsite January through March and is currently working with the Main Event on a Sunset Concert Series for the 2016 season. Don't miss this powerhouse performance.
