November 2, 2011 Spaghetti dinner to benefit Celia's Rainbow Gardens By Joanne Winer Quartzsite, AZ- The Annual All-You Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner to benefit Celia's Rainbow Gardens is coming up on Tuesday, November 15th at the Q.I.A. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will start at 5 p.m. There will be some great music again this year with Barefoot and Boots band playing country and western, and Paul Winer playing boogie woogie and blues accompanied by Ralph Martin on washtub bass. A special song will be sung by a little girl named Morgan. The new Celia's Rainbow Gardens Cookbook will also be available for sale for anyone who needs that special gift for Christmas giving as well. All proceeds from the benefit will enable more work to be done on some bigger areas of the Gardens as well as finish- ing up some of the trails that need more work done on them. The cost of the dinner is a $5.00 do- nation at the door, and the dinner in- cludes salads, garlic bread, spaghetti, drinks and desserts. Come on out and have a delicious meal and listen to some great music!! Quartzsite, AZ- Operation Hero Com- fort will be holding its benefit Silent Auction at Town Hall again this year, and it will be on Saturday, December 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Donations of items for the auction are welcome- -please call Anita Carlson if you have something you would like to donate. A hearing for the purpose of pub- lic input on the proposed redistrict- ing plans for the supervisory districts and Arizona Western College is set for Monday, Nov. 7 at 10am at the Board of Supervisors' regular meeting. Other public hearings on proposed re- districting will be in Salome, Wednes- day, Nov. 9, 9 a.m., at Centennial Community Center, located at 69725 Centennial Park Road, Salome; and Monday, Nov. 14, 1 p.m., at the Quartz- site Senior Center, 40 Moon Mountain Road, Quartzsite. The La Paz County Board of Super- visors are proposing slight changes in the supervisory districts to better reflect population changes from the 2010 census. Districts 1 will consist of precincts 51, 52 and 53, which is all of the Town of Parker and the Colorado River Indian Tribes Reservation. District 2 will consist of precincts 54, Upriver; 55, Bouse; 58, Quartzsite area north of Interstate 10; 62, Vicks- burg and 63, Alamo. Precincts 62 and 63 were part of District 3. District 3 will consist of precincts 56, Wenden; 57, Salome; 58, Quartzsite, south of Interstate 10; 59, Cibola; and 60 Ehrenberg. Precinct 60 was part of District 2. According to figures from the 2010 census, District 1 will have a popula- tion of 7,080 (34.55 percent); District 2 will have 6,888 population (33.61 percent); and District 3 will have 6,521 population (31.82 percent).
