Page 6 "Let's make a dent in the universe." - Steve Jobs Just Rambling... I heard coyotes far away, one night recently. It has been sometime, since we have heard them close by, or have one stroll by in the yard. We like it when road runners stop by. They are good listeners and stick around for awhile. They are so curious. Too bad they eat young quail. "The Eatery" owner, Michelle Lukkasson, is "pleased to bring something new and exciting to Quartzsite!" During the summer, Lukkasson intro- duced a Dessert Social Night fundraising event for local charities. The event was a huge success with hundreds of dollars raised for local organizations through the cooperation of business and volun- teer efforts. Another innovative creative idea, The Dinner Club Event will offer Quartzsite diners an exquisite experi- ence on Tuesday evenings. Appetizers are at 5pm. The scrump- tious three-course home cooked meal will be served at 6pm. From 7pm-9pm the Live Musical Show will be present- ed showcasing the very best talent in Quartzsite! Promoter Chuck Morris of Demor Entertainment, is a full time RVer and lover of music. Halloween Caravan thanks Submitted by Anita Carlson The Quartzsite Community Hallow- een Caravan was Friday Oct 28th. It took a lot of work from many people to make this happen. There were many volunteers at Town Hall to help enter- tain the children from the time they arrived until the Caravan began. There were many chaperones on the buses. Not everyone who wants to be on the route can be due to time issues. The following were at JR's RV Park and November 2, 2011 handed out candy to the children: Ho- rizon Community Bank, Q Check Shell, Celia's Rainbow Garden & the Collier's, Pilot, VFW Post 769, Quartzsite Busi- ness Chamber, Quartzsite Rotary Club, World Famous Main Event. Silly Al's Pizza, Desert Messenger, Park Friends, ARCO and JR's RV Park. The stops on the route were: Split Rail RV Park, JR's RV Park, RV Pit Stop, Kofa Mountain RV Park, La Casa Del Rancho, Sunsetters RV Park, Gen- eral Store, Family Dollar, Bealls, Des- ert Edge RV Park, Desert Gardens RV Park, Mountain Quail Cafe, 88 Shades RV Park and Holiday Palms RV Park. Buses were donated from The Schol- ars' Academy and Bouse Elemen- tary School. Vans were donated from Quartzsite Alliance Church. Bottled water donated by Isaiah 58 Project, ice donated by VFW Post 769, stuffed ani- mals donated by Operation Hero Com- fort, cups donated by Main Street Eat- ery, printing of fliers and permission slips donated by Town Hall, ads and permission slips were put in the Desert Messenger and the space was donated, coloring pages and crayons were do- nated by the Recreation Department. The Recreation Department and The Scholars' Academy put together the Haunted House. Quartzsite Police Department and Quartzsite Fire District escorted the Caravan. Thank you to everyone who helped and participated. It was a community effort to make this happen. I think all of the children had a great time.
