Anita Carlson coordinated the event this year, and she has listed all the do- nations and participants in a thank you letter in this issue--please read it and see just how much support this event has going for it still after all these years!! She did a wonderful job, and so did all the volunteers who helped at town hall and on the buses. The Fire Dept. was so busy this year they couldn't accompany the buses, but two Page 17 of their men came on their time off just to be a part of it!! Also thanks very much to our wonderful police depart- ment--not too many of them had ever experienced this caravan before, so they really got their feet wet this year!! They all did a great job!! Thanks again to everyone who provided candy for the kids and to those places who wel- comed the buses as they went around town--it was quite a spectacle to any- one who had never seen it before!! As they say "ONLY IN QUARTZSITE" Another Great Halloween Caravan!!! It was a lot of work again this year getting everything set up and ready, but the 21st annual Hallowe'en Cara- van for the kids in Quartzsite was great as usual!! The afternoon started off at Town Hall where there were activities set up for the kids to enjoy while they waited for the buses to arrive to take them around on the caravan. There was a movie, coloring pages and cray- ons inside and an animal walk outside. The kids really enjoyed it all, and it made the wait for the second load of kids from the elementary school go that much faster. The ride around town was a blast also, with the police cars using their sirens, blocking traffic so the buses could stay together, and providing a very safe trip for all the kids--there were 196 people on the caravan, not including the chaperones and bus drivers!! We were greeted with smiles at every stop, where residents from the RV parks and businesses on the route waited with the candy.
