The Arizona Centennial of Quartz- site's HOOSEGOW will be parked out- side of Silly Al's Pizza from November 13th through November 27th. Round up your Family, Neighbors and Fellow Fun Friends, to arrange "Bail" as you may be the victim of an "illegal arrest" by the Quartzsite Ro- tary Club. "Arrests" will be made starting at 7:00PM on November 16th and on November 22nd by the "Unofficial Ro- tary Sheriff". The filing fee for these arrests are $5 bucks. Bail will be set by the un- warranted compliant. All proceeds from this funny event will go toward the Arizona Centennial Committee in Quartzsite for the February 14, 2012 Centennial Celebration and Lasting Legacy Project. Watch this publication on Novem- ber 16th 2011 for information on how to purchase "Get Out Of Jail Free Cards"! "Through The Years…" is the theme Women's Luncheon and Modeling Show, Dec. 3 for this year's GFWC Women's Lun- cheon and Modeling Show. The event will be on December 3, 2011 at 12 noon at the Senior Center. This Annual Event has always been sold out for our Ladies of Quartz- site. This year we will have a look at the fashions and ways of our Arizona State Centennial by experiencing 1912 "through the years" of past and cur- rent fashion. We will have a delight- ful luncheon, modeling program and raffle. $10 per person. Come join us, the only person missing…is you! Free Movie in the park, Nov. 19 Quartzsite Substance Abuse Preven- tion Coalition will be sponsoring a free www.DesertMessenger.com movie in the park on Saturday, Novem- ber 19th, 5:30 pm, at the town football field (weather permitting). If too rainy or cold it will be shown in Town Hall. This month's movie is "A Walk in My Shoes" No rating, but is a "Family Movie". The movie will start as soon as it is dark enough. Hotdogs, Nachos, Popcorn, Candy and Drinks will be available to purchase. Free T-shirts! Bring chairs and/or blankets and have some quality family time. See you there! There are several changes and addi- QIA changes tions to our schedule for this season so please pick up one at the QIA office and all of our functions. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 9am-1pm. Also you will find a sched- ule in our glass display cases located on BLM lands, Laundromats, grocery stores, and at Bouse. We have added Bingo this year on Friday nights with Pat Smith in charge. Entertainment chairman, shows, etc. is Sandy Anderson. Craft Fair has a new chairman: Charlie Emerson. Call her for more information at the QIA. Special activities and Meetings chair- man is Erma Prier. We are adding a great Tractor show in December: Ron Vessey has more information. Pow-Wow Chair- man is Cathy McGilvery. There is al- ways Crafts, Painting, Beading, etc in the Dining room every Monday and Thursday from 9am to noon. For more information call Carole Rasmussen. We're happy to report he is doing fine now and is home recuperating. Tina gave us lessons on how to draw in pen- cil and we drew whatever we wanted and she gave us suggestions on how to correct our drawings to make them bet- ter. Thank you Tina, we learned a lot. Have you been in the Horizon Com- Art Guild news munity Banks lately? Our artists are now showing in the Quartzsite and Parker branches. Nancy Burrows is in the Quartzsite branch. She has a whole series of saguaro paintings and others. Dinice Ross 's work is in the Parker branch with her very interesting Indian collages.Artist Mary Reno Sperring will be showing in the Parker branch fol- lowing They are award winning artists so don't miss seeing their artworks. Our next meeting is Thurs., Nov. 3rd at 6:30pm at the Senior Center. George Wonenberg will be in charge for November's meetings. He said to bring your favorite painting or picture and we will look at them and see why we like them; teaching us about the rules of good composition. So come on by and join our group.
