Page 12 THOUGHTBUSTER.COM By Coach Louise Rouse Thankful heart From scary ghosts and witches just passing on Halloween Night, perhaps its now time to dust off the dragons, and return to the month of Thanksgiv- ing. A thankful heart is a happy heart. There are always two roads to follow, one leads to happiness and the other to sadness. With all the problems of today, it takes courage to travel down the road of happiness, as it is much easier to complain. Below are Ten ways to nourish a happy heart: 1) Every morning when you wake up sing this song (or another song) in the shower. This song goes to the tune of "Mama's little baby loves shortening, shortening, Mama's little baby loves shortening bread." "Every little cell in my body is happy, every little cells in my body feels good. I am so glad I feel so good because ev- ery little cell in my body is well". This www.DesertMessenger.com little song starts my day off in a posi- tive mood. 2) Meditate either in a quite place or spending solitude time in nature. See, feel, and hear all the wondrous beauty in the world. The beauty of nature is always reminding us of how blessed we are. 3) If you work at a desk job set a timer to ring every hour. When it rings, hit the play button for one of your favor- ite songs and take a 10 minute dance breaks or mini walk away from your desk or computer. This allows you to love your body and refresh your mind. This also works for taking TV breaks 4) Bless your food and your food will bless your body. 5) Carry an imaginary eraser in your pocket. Whenever you cave in into self-doubt, or criticisms, take out your imaginary eraser and erase and re- place with a positive affirmation, or thought. What we focus on be- comes part of us. 7) Allow yourself to be creative: paint, dance, sing, garden, sculpture, wood- work, make your gifts for the holi- days. Discover what creative project makes your heart sing. 8) Avoid bad news and negative talk. 9) Remember to take time to breathe. Connect with your breath, as your breath is your connection to feeding every organ in your body. 10) Everyday, notice all the many things to be grateful for.
