Members of Elijah 821, A. S. Hunter 825, Golden Star 150, and Wisdom 361 attended. Peter and Sarah Hewitt prepared an exquisite dinner. Visitations Ashe Lodge keeps kids in trees WEST JEFFERSON — For over two decades, the Masons of Ashe 594 have delivered Christmas cheer in the form of the best Christmas trees in the world — beautiful, live North Carolina firs. They donate one for each cottage on the campus of the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford. For many of the kids there, this is the first live Christmas tree they have ever enjoyed at the holidays. Over the past several years, Mike Sawyer, his wife, and a host of members from Ashe Lodge have made the long trip from West Jefferson on Thanksgiving weekend to bring Christmas to Oxford. The lodge has been doing so for more than 25 years. The lodge kicks off the holiday season at the Home in partnership with Dale Hudler, of Hudler Tree Farms (http://hudlercarolinatreefarm.com). — Chris Richardson between our jurisdictions are becoming more and more com- mon and have been universally well received where they have been tried. Formal invitations for a specific night or occasion are often a good icebreaker. — Vinnie DeBenedetto college dreams JACKSONVILLE — On July 19, the Onslow County Ma- sonic Scholarship presented five $1,200 scholarships to the fol- lowing outstanding members of our community. Thanks to the generosity of the Masons in Onslow County, these scholarships have been in existence for twenty-seven years.
