Welborn. They visited him June 10 to present his Diamond Jubilee award celebrating his 60 years as a Mason. Sumerlin WILMINGTON — Camp Call 534 member George Donald Greene, center, recently received his Diamond Jubilee Award honoring his 60 years as a Mason. Anderson Greene RALEIGH — On September 7, seven members of Hiram 40 made a special visit to the home of Bob Rothstein who was cel- ebrating his 100 th birthday. In addition to giving their birthday greetings, the lodge handed out some service awards. The lodge presented John Houser and Rothstein their Diamond Jubilees for their 60 th Masonic anniversaries. Elliot Swindell received his 50- year Veteran's Emblem. Pleasant 573's Glen Wingler got his Vet- eran's Emblem honoring his 50 years as a Mason. He is seen here, right, with Master Dwight Church who made the presentation. — Dwight Church GARNER — Victor E. Tart recently got the Veteran's Emblem for his 50 years in Masonry. Tart is seen here in front of Tart Grocery with his award. He first joined Masonry when he was in the Air Force in Texas, but he moved his membership to William T. Albritton photo SWANSBORO — Seaside 429 recently held a past masters night at which all chairs were filled by past masters of the lodge. The participants ranged from senior Past Master David Holland (1953) to immediate Past Master William Thacker (2013). — Greg D. Padgett is year, Grand Master Dalton W. Mayo visited our Veterans Administration Medical Centers around the state. It was his chance to brighten the day for several residents at each center. He also got to say thank you to the volun- teers of the Masonic Service Association's teams of volunteers at each of the retirement hospitals. Several of the men visited by Grand Master Mayo are pictured here. Wayne Carringer, 94 years old and a veteran of WWII's Bataan Death March, lives at the Asheville VA Home. He is a 67-year member of Robbinsville 672. GM Mayo visits VA Henry Dietrich Otten is 83 years old and a resident of the Fayetteville VA Hospital. He is a 55-year Mason who joined in Germany, but is now a member of Creasy Proctor 679. Earl Rayvon Curran lives at the VA Home in Salisbury. e Andrew Jackson 576 member is 87 years old and has been a Mason 56 years. Several other residents visited with the grand master in Salisbury. Cannon Memorial mem- ber James C. Sellars, Pride of Badin 557 (PHA) member Leonard McDonald, and Cannon Me- morial's Willis E. Kerley spent time with him.
