Continued blessings for Food Bank By Maggie Ross On Saturday, December 6th a yard and bake sale was held at Covenant Lutheran Church. So many delicious baked goodies were sold and all yard sale items were by donation only. Thank you to all the church members who came to do set-up on Friday and those who helped on Saturday. We were able to raise $1050.00 and with the help of a $700.00 Thrivent Lutheran Grant, we will be able to donate over $2,000.00 to those in need at the local Food Bank. Thank you for the nice note from one of our customers, who wrote me on Facebook this morning stating, "I am so pleased with the vacuum cleaner I bought and what I could afford to donate for it." When you receive gratitude once in awhile it makes it all worthwhile to know we are helping the community. Another member of our congregations was busy working the Soup and Chowder event that was held at the QIA. Thank you everyone who contributed their time and yummy soups and desserts. Another great effort to help the Food Bank with over $2,000.00 funds raised. Give some praise to all the volunteers in this community who help make lives better and Quartzsite a special place to live and visit. Think about being one of them and join in on one of the many upcoming events. It only takes one person to get the ball rolling but it takes a lot of people to help it reach its fi nal goal. Thank you to all of those who attended and hopefully enjoyed the events so far. We wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.
