Glow Stick Luminaries Cost: A few dollars Difficulty: Ridiculously easy Time to complete: Mere minutes
T
his is a great project for kids to help with and a flame-free way to light up your front walk for trick-
or-treaters. All you'll need are a few glow sticks and some recycled jars with lids, any kind of clear glass jars will do.
Simply snap the glow sticks to acti-
vate the chemicals, carefully snip off the end of each glow stick using scissors or a sharp knife, pour the glowing liquid into a jar, screw on the jar lid and shake so that the inside of the jar is coated in liquid. Kids love to help with the shak- ing and can help you place the luminar- ies along your front walk or in various places in your yard. You'll need one large glow stick per jar and the luminary should glow for about four to six hours — or until you run out of candy and bring the luminaries back inside, where they make great night lights for your own exhausted trick-or-treaters.
