Box 2374 Champaign, IL 61820 Address Service Requested Chi Zetagram Chi-Zeta Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha at the University of Illinois CHI ZETA CONTINUES TO IMPROVE Chapter Shows Strength in Philanthropy, Academics, and Intramurals C hi Zeta is improving rapidly in member involvement and recruitment. Actives give their time and energy back to the chapter and each other more than ever before. We have 12 new associate members and recently initiated an exemplary spring class of 11 brothers. Our team of committed brothers continues to use our revamped values-based recruitment programs. We have the men we need to project Chi Zeta into its next 100 years! Strength in Academics e chapter GPA saw improvement again last spring, with a chapter average of 3.14. is is an increase from the 3.07 at the end of the fall 2013 semester. e spring associate members earned a GPA of 3.18. Chapter Ranked ird in Service Chi Zeta remains dedicated to serving the campus and community through several philanthropy events. "Lambda Chi Alpha has made a large commitment to developing our philanthropy involvement in recent years. We are highly dedicated to maintaining pride in one of our seven core values, service and stewardship," said Brendan Lum '13 X2060. Members are showcasing their leadership in the area of service. Brendan serves on IFC as director of service and I serve as IFC VP of service. Chi Zeta was ranked third in fraternities last semester for the number of service hours completed and ranks third this fall. Brother Attends General Assembly Chapter President Sam Sagan '12 X2044 attended the 55th Lambda Chi Alpha General Assembly in Phoenix, AZ, July 24-27. "Lambda Chi Alpha chapters came together for our mutual welfare—deliberating on relevant legislation. Former President Ben Seadler '14 X1974 served on the Student Advisory Committee, which leads legislative discussion at the committee level. Intramural Success Last semester Lambda Chi turned in one of its better performances in the intramural category. e chapter participated in co-ed soccer and basketball. For soccer, Chi Zeta teamed up with AGD to go three rounds deep in the playoffs, including a nail-biting 2-1 win in penalty kicks over the Pikes. Basketball is quickly emerging as the chapter's top sport, as the team went to the playoffs for the second straight year. is semester brothers will compete in soball and soccer. e team won the soball championship and earned second place for the soccer intramural bracket.
