People from all over the world flock to the 2.5-mile turf of South Beach, Mi- ami for surf, sun and people watching so unique that it could only be com- pared to the South of France. And it's only a two-hour plane flight away. Go west on Alligator Alley, 70 plus miles across the Everglades and you'll find an idyllic, yet upscale beach town with 30 miles of white sand beaches and home to even more of America's wealth- iest citizens. Naples, Florida. If you're looking for a more laid back, yet posh atmosphere, then Naples is for you. And if you think the Sandhills boasts golf courses, just wait till you see the ones in and surrounding this sea- side city. It is home to 91 golf courses. Naples shares the same lux atmos- phere as Miami, but is also a haven for ecotourism thanks to its proximity to the Everglades and Big Cypress Basin. Airboat tours are a must-do. It attracts 70,000 tourists to the Miami scene. e world class Naples Philharmonic hosts many touring artists and produc- tions every year and is also home to Opera Naples. is November, the city's resident opera company will present the classic four act opera La Boheme by famed Italian composer, Giacomo Puc- Art Basel provides a platform for galleries, giving them access to an international audience of collectors, museum directors and curators. Now in its 33rd season, the Naples philharmonic was founded in 1982. Airboats are a very popular means of transportation in the Florida Everglades where they are used for fishing, bowfishing, hunting and eco-tourism.
