FAYETTEVILLE faces OF CAROLYN LANCASTER is a lifelong resident of Fayetteville. In addition to her 37 years in real estate she has volunteered for numerous organizations, ranging from the Junior League, Senior Call to Action Team, The Fayetteville Garden Club and presently sits on The Care Clinic board. Q: What has been the biggest change for the better to our town? A: Without question, the revitalization to the downtown area and the Botanical Garden are the biggest improvements I have seen. Her two favorite recent reads: Reckless Endangerment by Gretchen Morgenson, about the financial crisis and also The King of Color by Laurence Anholt COL STEPHEN F. CICINSKI, the Garrison Commander of Fort Bragg has resided in our community for two years and is unofficially known as 'the mayor of Fort Bragg'. As a big anthropology studies fan, he recommends reading: Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond. Recreationally, he also enjoyed the Harry Potter series. Q: Favorite kind of music? A: He is frozen in the late 80's and early 90's CRYSTAL CAVALIER has lived in Fayetteville for five years. She has accomplished more than most in that short time from rais- ing her family to completing her Master's degree, and her most recent honor of being named Military Spouse Magazine's Army Spouse of the Year. Q: What can you say to other younger spouses on the verge of their first deployment away from their service member? A: Volunteer. Don't lose your identity. If you are in school, stay in school - or get a job. But keep busy. Hobbies in her spare time, outside of her public speaking en- gagements, include painting, photography, and creating stained glass windows - a trade she learned through classes offered on post while stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.
