Prior to his election as District Attorney, West was a senior assistant district attorney for Cumberland County for 10 years, where he prosecuted serious felony and homicide cases. West is a graduate of North Carolina State university, where he was the Valedictorian, a member of the golf team, an Academic All American and the Atlantic Coast confer- ence's Oustanding Male Scholar- ship Athlete. West received his law degree from the Norman Adrian Wig- gins School of Law at Campbell University. He is married to Suzanna West and they have two children, Will and Lila. Of his service to the county, West says, "It is na honor to serve the citiaens of Cumberland County as your Dis- tric Attorney. "I will continue to be com- mitted to protecting the integ- rity and independence of your District Attorney 's Office," he continued.
