Beta-Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma Society P.O. Box 25 Mission, KS 66201 Address Service Requested M ajor's Update W e had a great turnout for recruitment this summer. With extensive efforts from members of the AIC and alumni volunteers, more than 100 young men showed interest in Greek life from freshman orientation. With the leadership of Recruitment Chairman Jesse Miller '12, our recruitment team contacted potential new members to learn more about them and share all that Kappa Sigma can offer. Members then came in to work week with an incredibly positive outlook on recruitment and the mindset that we were a threat to our competition. The members of the AIC set us up for success, and we are thrilled to welcome 15 new members. The recruitment schedule changed in comparison to previous years. The first night of recruitment was an all-Greek casino night for members to enjoy talking with new students. House tours were offered Wednesday night for the interested men, and it provided them with their first glimpse of Greek life at Baker. Thursday and Friday night the chapters planned their own events. This year we had a giant water pong game on our basketball court and a basketball/volleyball/cigar night. The chapter is excited about the upcoming renovation campaign. Last spring Campaign Chairman Stuart Hoffman '80 presented us with the opportunity to donate to the campaign. The chapter decided to contribute $10,000 over the next eight years. The Chapter wanted show everyone that we have confidence in the future of the Beta-Tau Chapter, and we know we can, again, become a powerhouse at Baker and nationally. We want to know we had a part in building this Chapter up both in structure and member strength. We encourage alumni to support the campaign for future generations of Beta Tau members. Finally, if you are ever in the area, please stop by the chapter house and see our successes firsthand.
