Actives Thankful for Alumni Support
I hope that everyone is doing well and I am glad to report that the Delta Chapter is as
strong as ever. I would like to thank all of the alumni who help support us every year. I
am pleased to share that we earned a chapter achievement in scholarship award from the
University and we look to maintain our strong leadership image on campus.
Strongest Manpower on Campus
Our chapter is currently the largest fraternity on the University of South Carolina
campus with 155 active members. The fall 2013 recruitment was our most successful in
chapter history. With 100% bid acceptance, we were the only fraternity that did not need
to participate in recruitment last spring. This year we continued to have our first choice
of new members and extended 27 bids.
Service and Philanthropy
Last year, we raised more than $22,000 through fundraising
centered around the Game Ball Run, which is a 35-year-old
tradition where we run the Clemson game ball from Clemson
to USC (or vice versus depending on the location of the
game that year). It's a 156-mile trip that we split with the
Sigma Nu chapter at Clemson University. We anticipate
raising approximately $35,000 this year. The Game Ball
Run raises money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and
the Caribbean Youth Network. If you would like to support
Game Ball Run this year, go to Facebook and search for "ΣN
Game Ball Run."
I encourage those who are in Columbia to come by and visit the
chapter house. We would love to meet you.
